On today’s episode, I am talking to Dr. Meghan Walker. Dr. Meghan Walker is a naturopathic doctor who has recently stopped practicing as a doctor and has stepped into a bigger, higher role as a thought leader. She is training other practitioners in her methods and scaling up her impact beyond what she can do with her own two hands. It’s been an incredible and powerful journey for her to move from managing a practice on her own to having a big team and now influencing other practitioners.
As a naturopathic doctor and entrepologist, Dr. Meghan Walker supports the health and optimization of entrepreneurs and go-getters. The demands of an entrepreneurial life can take a toll on one’s health. From relationships to neurotransmitters, Dr. Meghan goes deep with world-renowned experts to help you optimize your brain and purpose. Your health is your unfair advantage.
In this episode, we are going to explore the process Meghan went through and how that looked for her. Even if you don’t run a health and wellness clinic, this is a perfect episode for you. It is perfect for you if you feel like you are an expert and are trying to do everything with your own two hands, but are feeling called to become a thought leader, to make a bigger impact, and to step away from the day to day activities you are doing in order to make more.
We discuss:
- [02:23] Meghan shares about her defining moment.
- [02:42] One of the biggest challenges she is noticing with people in general as they transition through their life is fear.
- [04:18] Meghan had frequent flyer status by the age of twelve from flying back and forth between her parent’s houses.
- [04:52] Meghan shares an experience traveling on a smaller plane and trying to land on a foggy night in Toronto.
- [06:40] Often when we approach fear it is all based on our advantage points, expectations walking into a scenario, and the meaning we apply to a given experience.
- [09:42] She made a commitment very early in her career to impact people in a deep and meaningful way.
- [10:09] She is even more committed to expanding that idea and enabling more people to have access to that idea of unlimited health so they can live their purpose in the world.
- [12:16] Having some clarity on why you do what you do informs so many of the next steps.
- [14:16] She had evidence that they were still having an impact with a larger crowd and she loved what she was able to do with her time.
- [16:32] Meghan knew she could impact more people, but she had to give up meeting with clients one on one. That was something she had to reorient herself around.
- [18:42] She made this next step in her career because it was right for her not because it was right for everyone.
- [20:49] Her team anchored themselves with some distinct processes, and event and project management to enable them to grow to that next level.
- [23:27] Often we don’t need to create new content. We just need to show the people the right map and navigation tool to manage the terrain in front of them.
- [25:19] Look at how you can create this confluence of success in your business with your purpose that really drives you.
- [26:41] People are still really good people. You can have interest and desire to have massive income, impact, and influence. People are leveraging the opportunities they have had in life to do good and that is very inspiring.
- [29:27] Meghan doesn’t regret any phases of her life, she pulls the parts that were really great and leverages the others accordingly.
- [30:24] At any given moment we have to make choices.
- [31:42] She doesn’t run herself ragged, she is constantly reworking how she is using her time and creating efficiency around her time.
- [33:02] Meghan really encourages us to just speak up and share our message.
