On today’s episode, we have Dov Gordon. Dov is the “practical alchemist.” He has been creating powerful communities and building a thriving business around these relationships that he creates in these communities. He is a community builder and tribe creator.
Dov Gordan is known as “The Alchemist Entrepreneur.” He helps consultants, coaches, and entrepreneurs develop a consistent flow of their ideal clients. Dov has been helping experts and entrepreneurs whip their marketing into shape. Relying on fundamental psychological principles, he teaches simplicity over complexity with a discerning eye, delivering high value.
Today we are going to explore his wisdom for how he creates communities and how he uses them to build and develop relationships that become not only profitable customers but close friends and allies in your business journey. There is a ton of value that Dov has to share and he is one of the most powerful people I have met in the last couple of months.

- [12:21] His client was very successful because they are used to people selling or asking something of them, but instead, he was offering them something.
- [12:56] So much of business is going to come from relationships of some kind.
- [13:43] Most people want a good upper six-figure business and some balance, time, and freedom in their life.
- [14:36] How can I leverage these relationships so that the right people remember me at the right time when they are ready?
- [18:04] We want people coming to work with us because of who we actually are, not because who we are pretending to be.
- [18:56] The two paths to thrive as a successful consultant, coach, or an expert is the path of the charismatic guru or the path of mastery.
- [19:51] The path of mastery works by understanding why a marketing message or story works when it works and why it fails when it fails. If we can understand why things work and fail them we can actually make it work for us and our clients.
- [22:03] If we know why things work and fail then we create our own custom made systems infused with my goals and values. It is also repeatable.
- [25:43] Your alchemy network can be comprised of either of ideal clients, colleagues, or recommenders.
- [28:41] You have to have conversations with people to get to know them.
- [30:12] An “under the radar” leader doesn’t have to be known by everybody. If you have good relationships well placed in your industry and you know how to cultivate and leverage them then you will always have clients.
- [31:17] Dov helps his clients leverage things that they have already succeeded with and feel good about.
- [34:05] You can take what you are really good at and build on that and start to leverage it.
- [35:28] One of the mistakes we make is asking how we find and get through to hard to reach people.
- [36:28] You have to meet potential clients where they are.
- [37:10] There are only two things that people are interested in and if you talk about these two things you will get their attention and interest. Interest is when you change your plans.
- [37:51] People are interested when you talk about a problem they have and don’t want or a result that they want and don’t have. Then you will get their attention and interest.
- [39:04] It is worth your time to put in a little extra effort to learn a little about them and be specific in your messaging.
- [40:27] When creating an alchemy network you first need to design it and launch it. Then you have to lead it and leverage it. You want people to want to contribute.
- [41:56] In the design phase you need to decide who is the ideal member and what is the big idea.
